As a long-term Lowcountry resident and business owner, I share the pain that Matthew has inflicted on our community and our companies. As entrepreneurs we have to be forward looking and find solutions. We all need to make up for the losses we have endured and I can think of no better way than to rally the general public to spend their dollars at locally owned business in the upcoming weeks and months and during the holiday season.
Therefore, I’m launching a not-for-profit initiative with a clear mission: Support local businesses. Your participation in this effort is free of charge. Go to www.shopmorelocal.org/signmeup and fill in your information. It’s that simple.
I have received over $100,000 in media commitments from over twenty-six media outlets (Adams Outdoor, Alpha Media — BOB 106.9, Rock 106.1, Rewind 107.9, G100 98.3, Hank FM 93.5 The Island, Apex Media– 104.9 The Surf, SC 103 Easy FM 106.5, 99.1, Bluffton.com, Bluffton Monthly, The Bluffton Sun, Bluffton Today, The Bluffton Breeze, Fork&Fun, HHIGO.com, HiltonHead.com, Hilton Head Monthly, The Hilton Head Sun, La Isla, Marlin Outdoor, Pink Magazine, Sun City Sun, The Sun Today, Vacation Guide, Visitor Map) and there will be more to come.
I will be soliciting major companies to sponsor this effort and we have contracted with the dedicated team from IRMAdoesmarketing.com to orchestrate an intense four-month campaign including print, radio, online, social media, newsletters, and participation at local events to get the message out.
Your participation and support of this effort is crucial in order for this initiative to succeed. Please do not delay your answer and say: YES count on me to be part of making the Lowcountry strong again. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to e-mail or call me personally.
Together we can make this happen.
